Kurt, partner since 1983, graduated in 1971 with an A.B. from the University of Missouri-Columbia and received his J.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1974. Kurt was admitted to the Missouri Bar in 1974, the United States District Court - 8th Circuit Court of Appeals in 1974. He is also admitted to practice before all Federal Courts in Missouri.

Kurt began his legal career in general practice here in Jefferson County with Pannell, Dodson and Robinson. He then worked a few years for a Clayton labor law firm handling civil and worker’s compensation business before returning to Jefferson County. In 1983, he started the current firm in partnership with Jay Nixon. After Kevin Roberts joined the partnership, the firm merged with Dodson and Kister and created the two offices the firm now occupies in Festus and Hillsboro.

Kurt is a litigator and transactional attorney handling wills, probate, estate planning, general civil litigation, corporate & business, real estate transactions and trial work.

Kurt is also a Certified Mediator (State and Federal).

Kurt is a member of the Missouri Bar, Jefferson County Bar Association, Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, Missouri Association of Trial Lawyers, Missouri Municipal Attorneys Association, Festus-Crystal City Rotary, DeSoto Chamber of Commerce and the Twin City Chamber of Commerce.
